PSYCHOTHERAPY

Samantha Rott, M.A., MFTA, PCA, LMHCA

Do you experience anxiety, depression, anger, PTSD, parenting struggles, other relationship dynamic issues or changes, or personal identity concerns? I am here to support you finding your voice within yourself and your close relationships. I believe that our past informs our present, in how we see, feel, hear, connect, and experience our lives. From the beginning, we try and make sense in our minds of everything around us with the sensations in our bodies. We are later influenced by our families, schools, peers, and greater community. I find behavior to be an important opening to explore the underlying feelings an individual is experiencing in response to others. I view therapy as a collaborative process in which you, as the client, are the expert of your own life and I am an empathetic and supportive guide helping create a brave, validating, accepting, empathetic, and patient space.

With you willing to explore the past experiences that are relevant to seeking therapy today, I provide reflections to offer alternative perspectives for possible change. This is a process of discovery within your systems of influence, such as your family—however you may define this. Therapy is unlike other forms of healthcare in this way, and I strive to create a brave space in which vulnerability is supported as a strength.

My approach to therapy primarily follows Integrated Therapy utilizing Psychodynamic, Person-Centered, Attachment, and Family Systems theories. I work with children (3+), preteens, teens, adults—individuals and couples—and families residing in Oregon and/or Washington.

My pronouns are she, her, hers and I look forward to learning yours.
